Here is a reply from an anti-aging expert to a reader about ways to live longer and better.
"I am board certified in internal medicine and anti-aging medicine. You were inquiring about Growth Hormone and GH stimulants. This is a subject that I have a great interest in and have done quite a bit of study. I have about ten individuals on GH injections which is currently the most efficacious treatment. However, I also use the GH releasers in many individuals; Each patient is treated individually based upon a complete assessment.
I would refer you to a book entitled "Ten Weeks To A Younger You" by Ronald Klatz, M.D. It is widely available.
If you are getting a good response it is quite safe to continue the oral form you are taking as it will not suppress your pituitary gland.
In my experience the oral forms which are not inexpensive, do not appreciably improve GH levels. In my experience most patients with significantly low levels of GH and IGF 1 will not obtain benefit from the oral precursors. The oral preps are OK if there is a response; most of the time it is a placebo response.
The best is the injection of GH and though it is not inexpensive the price continues to drop. Physician supervision is crucial so that, as well as routine blood work, does increase the cost a bit more.
I have been personally taking GH injections for about a year and have noticed great benefits. However, I take it only three times per week. Even at five times per week there is no suppression of the pituitary gland. I have a number of patients on the injections as do most of the anti-aging specialists.
This is a Godsend for those in real need of the benefits of the therapy. In the future I expect it to be routine therapy for many. I have my bias. Growth Hormone administration is safe when done under proper supervision. As long as the precautions are followed by the patient the injections are safe. Those that are on the injections must be monitored closely.
There are several alternatives to actual Growth Hormone injections. I take these on the days that I do not take the hormone shots. The key is to be monitored if on injections. No need for monitoring on stimulators of GH release. I have been using a capsule named Zen which contains GABA and an amino acid derivative, theonine. It appears safe and efficacious. 14 grams of Arginine (another amino acid) works well also and is safe. The rub on the skin liquid prep called Transderm troph has studies which are convincing."
